Trail conditions, part 2

Route checked and additional markings in place from start through to St. Adolphe today. Big thanks to the Crow Wing Trail Association for adding more blue arrow signs over the last year.

Overall, route is 90% rideable as of today (the math of that means likely about 10km of hike-a-bike, right?). Runners will have some loose conditions.

Some deeper snow on 3 trail sections between St. Malo and St. Pierre. Think like a voyageur – go with the flow.

AE2Equipment advice remains the same: be prepared for variable trail conditions with some deep snow. Footwear choice should take this into account.  Not to put too fine a point on it: cycling shoes are probably not the best choice. Gaiters or tall socks would probably be a good move.

Enjoy your last week of preparation – see you at the pre-race gear check and meeting on Friday.
