We’re gearing up for our information meeting tomorrow night at Olympia Cycle & Ski (1813 Portage Ave) at 7:30 pm. Come and meet other challengers and learn some inside secrets, tips and tricks to having the best 130k ride possible.
Local legend Lindsay Gauld will share the secrets to choosing, setting up and prepping your gear, race director Ian Hall will make sure you know what it takes to stay safe and have fun, Pure Lifestyle’s JF Bérard will bring his expertise to help you train in the weeks ahead, and of course, we’ll have a good amount of time for Q&A. Will the Yeti show up? Who knows? There should be plenty of bikes there to fascinate him, but he’s got his own agenda…
Here’s the (in)formal schedule:
David Pensato, welcome and introduction of our Try an Epic participants.
Ian Hall, What is Actif Epica like and how to survive and enjoy it.
J-F- Bérard, Physical preparation for winter ultra distance cycling.
Lindsay Gauld, Winter bike ultra gear and prep from head to toe (and saddle to tire).
Ian Hall, Q&A with other panelists.
It should be a lot of fun and a good chance to ask questions, talk shop and hear some interesting tales from the trail. We hope you can join us!
