There are lots of ways to get involved in making Actif Epica your own, but we’ve come up with at least 4 basic ways to join in the fun and make Actif Epica a community expereince:
- Ultra Marathon: bike or run a 130 km epic across the prairie on the historic Crow Wing Trail (part of the Trans Canada Trail) in southeast Manitoba from St. Malo to Winnipeg’s French quarter, St. Boniface. Race checkpoints will connect racers to the communities of St. Pierre-Jolys, Otterburne, Niverville, St. Adolphe and Winnipeg. This will be a challenging race – finish times will be in the 10 to 20 hour range, depending on conditions.
- Co-Actif Events: focused at checkpoints, community partners are invited to organize events that support the Actif Epica principles and are about active living, outside. Lead a group walk, a shinny tournament, a tobogganing party, a birding outing, or a ski tour. Co-Actif Events will be promoted as part of the celebration.
- Education: share information about what you or your organization are doing to promote resiliency or to live the Actif Epica principles. Displays and workshops hosted at checkpoints or elsewhere in the community will be promoted as part of Actif Epica.
